(WADSP) World Alliance Democratic Socialist Party

Post  New-Zealand on Fri Oct 04, 2013 10:13 am

World Alliance Democratic Socialist Party (WADSP)

Welcome to the World Alliance Democratic Socialist Party (WADSP), we are a party for unity, freedom and equality. We strive for a region abundant in civil rights and political freedoms, but free from the clutches of Corruption, Crime and inequality. We strive for a system where regardless of where a person starts, he has equal chance of reaching the top, all it takes is hard work. We despise tyranny and hegemony. We despise total Monarchy (Monarchy without a parliament) and dictatorships. We applaud only democracy. However, we do turn a blind eye to Monarchies with a working democratic system (Such as that in Eurussia). Our central economic policy is liberal socialism, we believe in equality with competition. Tax rates are encouraged to be high, but not punitive. For without competition, we would have no progress. The WADSP does have a caucus list based system, but if a person gains more than 10% of the party votes, they must compulsorily be granted a position in the parliament, regardless of their list position. The list will be reshuffled every 3 months (before each election) through means of a online poll whose link will be distributed to all WADSP members via TG (To stop non party members voting). The person who scores #1 in the votes (internal), will be #1 on the Caucus list, and will be proclaimed party leader. The leader will then select the party caucus and organize it in the way he deems fit. However, it is assumed he will use the internal election results as a basis for his decisions. In the case of multiple nations gaining the same number of votes, their place will be decided by their scores on the previous internal election. On the off case that in all the internal elections they have scored the same, a last minute tie breaker (new poll) will be held.

HQ Info:
The WADSP HQ is the latest in a craze called "Green Architecture". The HQ itself has an extremely low carbon footprint and runs of a barrage of solar panels and small wind farms (It is however connected to the electrical grid just incase). Theoretically the building would emit a carbon footprint in the negatives due to the photosynthesis of its large gardens and trees lining the roofs and balconies. Not only do the trees have a eco friendly effect, but also provide cover to hide the many turrets, security cameras and other defense systems. The garage is set up with fast charging points that will charge any electrical cars parked there, thus encouraging its employees to reduce their own carbon footprint. The HQ is currently located in Sunnyside, NZ, about a block away from the massive CSSN HQ (Which is quite a lot less efficient than this HQ). Security is tight with armed police protecting both the CSSN and WADSP HQs. Though this is not out of the ordinary for the residents of Sunnyside, as the city itself was designed to be the political hub of NZ. Starting off with just the CSSN HQ, the city is now home to the HQs of multiple superpowers such as Holden, General Enterprises, Air New-Zealand, Mighty River Power, Solid Energy, Orcon and all the other SOE's. Its tight security tied with its beautiful setting and clean air with a tinge of the sea breeze makes it the perfect place to host the new HQ for the WADSP.

Nations requesting membership should do so by contacting either New Zealand or myself, and making a formal post in this sub forum.

Welcome to the WADSP! You are currently placed as #4 on the party caucus list, as we are using a first come first serve system till we get all our registrations in. It will probably remain like this till the first election, but as per the internal vote, your placement may change for the second election.

Eurussian Position

Post  Great Eurussia on Fri Oct 04, 2013 12:25 pm

Eurussia thankz the WADSP Leadership for the the acceptance. As we are now officially a member, we are keen in ensuring the strengthening of the party's institution to ensure a united stance on all issues in the Council nor in the future Parliament.
We should have a bloc voting principle. What do you think?

what does that mean? I cant find an online explanation for it.

I was thinking of allowing nations 5 votes, which they can give to any of the candidates. Those who get none, will be arranged by random shuffle, (I'm gonna use one of those online ballot apps).

My fault, what I meant with the bloc voting principle is that the entire WADSP will agree internally on who to vote among all candidates and/or what vote stance should party members give to a particular proposal.

Usually the party leader will choose the stance of the party. However, he is expected to listen to the general consensus of the party, cause if the doesn't the rest of the party can enact a no confidence reshuffle, which could see him loose his leadership and even his placement in the parliament (if he drops far enough on the list, and doesn't meet the stand alone threshold in the WA election). But yea, in any given instance, to the outside world, the party members follow the decision of the leader.

Of course, if this is a conscience vote (must be stated when bill put forward, it is usually used to opinionated proposals like gay marriage) then there is no influence or requirement on how you place the vote as far as the party is concerned. For that vote you are essentially going independent.

Yeah I know about the leader's command over the entire party's stance and when it comes to proposals as well. However, the bloc voting principle will instill discipline and solidarity among party members, in my opinion.
Also, I don't mean to impose bloc voting as a rule, I was pointing it out to probably be observed so that our political party wouldn't just become a decoration to get elected during parliamentary elections.

Let us put it this way, normally in our months as region mates when it comes to election or proposal, we always uphold our sovereignty thus despite alliances or coalitions, we are all independent on decisions thus making our common interests as alliance obsolete in the end and prioritizing our own interests.
Now as we form political party, one way, the way I see it, is to at least have bloc voting where,
For elections, after all candidates have been presented, the party must evaluate first all candidates and come up with a compromised list of candidates whom the party decided to elect. And at the end of the day, all party members shall follow or observed that list or else risk being reprimanded by the party.
For proposals, all elected party members must confide first with the party who will again have discussions whether to support a proposal, reject it or amend it before making a vote. At the end of the day, all elected party members must follow the will of the party.
The effects? A united and formidable political bloc.

Okay, let me try and answer that question.

When you are voting in the actual WA election, you are obviously expected to vote for the WADSP. So that is the primary vote, then you have a secondary vote, in which you can choose a specific candidate (The Secondary vote is optional) from the party you chose in your primary vote. As far as the WADSP is concerned, you can specify anybody in your secondary vote, though I presume you would specify for yourself.

Re: (WADSP) World Alliance Democratic Socialist Party

Post  New Paristan on Sat Oct 05, 2013 8:32 am

A telegram arrives in the inbox of the WADSP. It reads:

"Comrades, we represent an unofficial faction of what New Paristan once was. We Free Workers want nothing more than to see our beloved nation returned to its glory days as a worker-run democratic commonwealth. We cannot join your political party in any official capacity; we have no official standing in New Paristan as the "caretaker government" has banned all "unapproved" political organizing - that is, "unapproved" by Valjean and his capitalist cronies. They'll claim that it's to keep out the Bolsheviks; well, those Leninist bastards are about as popular as a bag of weasels, so there's no risk there.

So we can't identify ourselves, and we can't join officially, but we're writing you to let you know about the situation in New Paristan - the elections are a sham, completely rigged, and no parties unfriendly to the capitalist agenda of Valjean and his cronies will be allowed to participate. The new constitution has already been written: it destroys the power of Paristani labor to self-organize, it declares corporations immune to the law, slashes "labor value" wage rules, and turns our country into a corporatist hellhole.

We need your help, comrades. We've had enough war, so we won't ask for that. But international political pressure could come in very handy. Demand the elections be free and open. Demand international observers. If Paristanis can freely vote, the Free Workers are convinced they'll choose a path of cooperation and democracy. It may not look like the anarcho-communist utopia we once had, but it'll be pretty close, we reckon.

If we pull off a clean election, and the results are favorable to the Free Workers, then New Paristan will once again open for trade and economic cooperation with like-minded countries."
