Registry of National Currency

Post  Arveyres on Tue Dec 17, 2013 5:40 am

What is your national currency? Is it a physical currency or a digital (credit-type) currency? What are the subdivisions of your monery? Please supply a photo of your money if you have one Smile

Prior to 1932, the Patrician Dinar was used.

The National Arveyres Currency is the Lira (French: la lire; Patrician: lirul). The Lira is divided into 100 centimes.

Re: Registry of National Currency

Post  Marquette (of Pacific) on Tue Dec 17, 2013 7:02 am

The one accepted currency throughout the entire United Kingdom of Greater Marquette is the King's Dollar in English, although its French name, "le Dollar du Roi" is used throughout the country, no matter what language is spoken in the region. However, it is also called the Crown by many Marquetiens, and you can hear that in any of the many languages of Marquette.

The symbol for the King's Dollar is the Marquetien dollar sign: ƒ

Our paper money (called a Royaume/Royal, again it depends on the region) come in the following:

ƒ10
ƒ20
ƒ50
ƒ100
ƒ500
ƒ1,000
ƒ10,000

Most coins have names, so you will hear someone call a coin by its name, rather than calling it by its worth. This may make handling currency confusing for foreigners in Marquette. As with most things in Marquette, the language spoken in different regions dictates the name of the coin, and some coin names differ throughout regions. Here we will just use the French coin names, as the four French regions of Marquette of Pacific get the most tourists and have the highest population.

5¢ (le pied)
10¢ (le canard)
25¢ (le cuivre)
50¢ (l'argent)
ƒ1 (le livre)
ƒ2 (le tigre)
ƒ5 (la reine)
ƒ10 (le roi)

We use a digital currency, called the Imperial Credit. Physical transactions are accomplished with using the citizen's ID card, that holds information concerning their bank account, among other things.

Re: Registry of National Currency

Post  New Coldon on Sun Jun 21, 2015 6:50 pm

In New Coldon one uses the Lexa. although bartering is also quite common in the more rural parts of the country. Lexa actually comes from the Coldonian word for Taxes. The coin was introduced at first to let the government tax its people. Back in the day of the Coldonian Kingdom, Taxes were important to fund all the royal projects. After the Revolutionary war the New Coldonian Government got rid of most of the taxes, but the currency is still named after it.

Coins:

1/3 Lexa
2/3 Lexa
1 Lexa
2 1/2 Lexa

Bills:
5 Lexa
10 Lexa
